The district administration has directed the heads of government schools to activate school councils to ensure proper security arrangements at educational institutions.

Addressing a meeting in Government MD College, a district officer said that the workers hired for construction work of the educational institutions’ buildings be properly identified. Only those security guards be deputed who had modern licensed arms, DCO Amer Ijaz Akbar said.

Meanwhile, DPO Rana Shahzad Akbar told the meeting that all the security guards of the educational institutions were being trained for using arms and frisking of entrants. Colleges deputy director Mian Arshad Iqbal, EDO Rao Attiq Ahmad and other officials were also present.

Meanwhile, AC Wasif Bashir issued show cause notices to the managements of seven private educational institutions for having poor security arrangements. They also included Sultan Foundation School that is run by the trust of the family of PML-N MNA Junaid Anwaar Chaudhry. He warned in the notice that if they failed to adopt required arrangements, their educational institutions will be sealed.
