Five persons including two women were killed and three others sustained critical injuries in different incidents occurred separately here the other day.
In Jhang, rivals gunned down a 42-year-old woman over old enmity.
Khursheed Bibi, wife of Muhammad Sadiq, a resident of Mauza Chund Bhurwan in the limits of Massan Police was working in her home. In the meantime, unidentified armed culprits abducted her from the house and took her to the bank of River Chenab near Chund Bridge where they shot her dead.
Later, they threw her body into the River Chenab and managed to escape from the spot. On information, Rescue 1122 team and police reached the spot and started search operation. However, divers continued search for the body till filling of this report.
On Jhang-Faisalabad Road near Chiniot Morr, a motorcyclist was killed. The accident occurred when a Lahore-bound passenger bus hit two motorcycles near Chiniot Morr. As a result, a 35-year-old Kaneez Fatima, daughter of Haji Zulfiqar Ali, resident of Jhang Saddr succumbed to her injuries on the spot while other motorcyclists including 60-year-old Haji Zulfiqar Ali, 17-year-old Naveed, 18-year-old Samer Abbas, got serious injuries and were admitted to DHQ Hospital by Rescue 1122 officials.
In another mishap which happened on Jhang-Lalian Road near Shah Jewna, another two motorcyclists were killed. Reportedly, 14-year-old Imran Ali, a resident of Mauza Punjgirain, in the limits of Qadirpur Police and his 17-year-old cousin Shehzad, a resident of Chak 167/JB, were going to Shah Jewna on bike. When they reached a few miles away from Shah Jewna their bike rammed into a tree due to speeding. Resultantly, both the bike riders got serious injuries and were taken to RHC Shah Jewna where they breathed their last.
In Hafizabad, a motorcyclist killed while two injured when a speeding truck crushed them on bypass road. According to Rescue 1122 sources, Hamza and Shahid Latif were on their way to Thatha Khokhran. When they reached near Kassoki bypass, another motorcyclist Jahangir hit their bike. Resultantly, all three motorcyclists fell on the road.
Meanwhile, a speeding truck coming from Sargodha crushed them. As a result, Jahangir was killed on the spot while Hamza and Shahid received serious injures. They were shifted to Hafizabad DHQ Hospital.
