15,000 forms sold for Class XI admissions

KARACHI - During last two days more than 15,000 admission forms have been sold from 50 branches of Bank Al-Habib Limited on account of admissions to XI classes under the Centralized Admission Policy (CAP). The initial two days of the CAP procedures have witnessed for assembled multitude at different branches of the said bank. The multitude of parents and students gathered to obtain the admission forms, which is being sold on Rs 50, The Nation learned. On the other hand, in some bank branches the procedure of selling the admission forms remained slow. The last date of selling of placement forms is 8th August 2009, which is tentative it may be extended if required. This year the work of selling and submission of CAP brochure is given to Bank Al-Habib Limited; the admission forms can obtain and submitted at 50 branches of Bank Al Habib Limited those were 42 in last year. All colleges shall act as a guidance centers for the students. Last year total 82,000 placements were made for admissions in government colleges of Karachi in different faculties. Sale of brochures was 92000. A member of CAP Committee, on a condition of anonymity, said that the candidates numbers would be increased this year as compared to the last year. He claimed that 99,800 seats were available in different faculties this year that would be lesser because the quantity of successful candidates may increase from 100,000. As per the estimation of the CAP, this year total 99,942 students have passed this year, approximately 5,000 candidates are expected from 'O level, other than Karachi Board, Technical Board. It is pertinent to mention here that forms of 'O Level, Other than Karachi Board, Technical Board, General Science (Computer), Home Economics will submit their forms at only two branches of Bank AI-Habib, including Karimabad and MA Jinnah Road.
