Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance Shaukat Tareen on Thursday took oath as the member of the upper house of the Parliaemnt. The oath was administered by the presiding officer Col (R) Tahir Hussain Mashhadi during the ongoing session of the Senate. Tareen had 'returned uncontested' against the Senate seat reserved for Ulema/Technocrats from the Sindh province. As none of the candidates had filed nomination papers against him, the Election Commission of Pakistan Wednesday published his name as a candidate 'returning uncontested.' Tareen had filed nomination papers against this seat of Senate falling vacant after resignation of Senator Javaid Leghari.
