KARACHI - The delegates belonging to ASEAN countries have shown keen interest for investment in tourism sector of Sindh and assured the Minister Tourism Sindh Shazia Marri and Minister Revenue Jam Mahtab Hussain Dahar for joint venture to explore such opportunities. The foreign delegation of diplomats and investors, who is currently visiting Pakistan, expressed such willingness of investment in the tourism sector of Sindh, during a presentation cum lunch-on arranged by the Minister Tourism Sindh in their honour, at local hotel, Thursday. The visiting delegates belonged to ASEAN countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Union of Myanmar, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam and other countries. The presentation of Ms. Shazia Marri was supported by the Minister Revenue Sindh Jam Mahtab Hussain Dahar, MPA Haji Anwar Ali Mahar, Secretary Tourism Sindh Ms. Rabiua Javeri Agha and the secretary General Karachi Council of Foreign Relations, Ahsan Mukhtar Zubairi while the Consul General of Turkey at Karachi Fethi Etim, the Consul General of Malaysia Mr. Khalid Abdul Razzaq others were also present on the occasion. Ms. Shazia Marri in her presentation told delegates that the Sindh being land of great heritage and colourful culture, is having great opportunities of investment in the tourism and the promotion of tourism can be a great tool in fight against terrorism. She further briefed that that land was having thousand years old civilization and world heritage like Moen - jo- Daro and Makli monuments were also situated here. She said that Sindh had to offer its visitors, the archaeological sites like Ranikot fort, ancient mosque of Shah Jehan at Thatta, coastline of around 250 kilometers, desert of Thar, shrines of Sufi Saints and other great and rich colours of life and traditions. Ms. Marri also briefed the plans of government to promote these sites and offer maximum possible facilities to foreign visitors specially and said that tourism sector in Sindh is keeping great opportunities of investment for foreign investors. Consul General of Turkey Mr. Fethi Etim also told the diplomats that Sindhs Culture and heritage is having unique colours and there is need to explore opportunities of investment in tourism and bringing before the world this hidden treasure of Sindh. On this occasion, visiting diplomats said that they had been learning about the rich heritage and colourful culture of Sindh and now they are happy to visit this land. The diplomats shown keen interest to explore the opportunities of investment and joint ventures in the sector of tourism in Sindh and in this regard the both sides agreed to work on these opportunities. Shazia Marri , Jam Mahtab Hussain Dahar, MPA Anwar Mahar and Secretary Tourism Ms. Rabia Javeri Agha presented traditional Sindhi Ajrak to the members of foreign delegation.
