LAHORE - The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) of the provincial capital Thursday warned that the building of the Lahore High Court, Sessions Courts and other courts are on the hit list of the terrorists as miscreants can enter in these courts for terror attacks by wearing the uniform of lawyers or police officials. CCPO Aslam Tareen further said the threat of any terrorist attack on the courts can be avoided provided the lawyers community stop objecting to their physical search by the security guards and police officials deployed at the entry points of the court premises. In a letter addressing to Mian Abdul Qadus, President Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and Sajid Bashir, President District Bar, Lahore Bar Association (LBA), CCPO Aslam Tareen asked them to direct lawyers to cooperate with the police. The CCPO has also forwarded the copies of the warning letter to Chief Secretary Punjab, Home Secretary Punjab, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Registrar Lahore High Court, District & Sessions judges Lahore, District Coordination Officer and superintendent of police security Lahore. The CCPO in his letter said, it has been reported by SP Security that lawyers avoid their physical search by the security guards and police officials deployed at the entry points of the court premises in the City. The letter said, terrorists can deceive the security guards or police officials by wearing the uniform of an advocate in the courts premises and succeed in their evil designs. The CCPO has requested Abdul Qadus and Sajid Bashir, the Bars presidents to direct their colleague advocates to go through the process of physical checking, search while entering the court limits, which can be very useful for their (lawyers) own interests as well as public.
