LAHORE (APP) - The experts at a technical lecture stressed the need for optimizing the efficiency of the energy plants and minimizing the unnecessary use of energy. The lecture was organized by Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP) at Lahore Centre building on Thursday. Former federal minister for Railway Engineer Shamim Haider was the chief guest. Former chairman local centre IEP Engr. Ch. Shafqat, Engr. Mian Sultan Mahmood, Engr. Amir Zamir Khan, Engr. M Ijaz Dar, Sayad Muhammad Qamar Raza Naqvi and Nisar Muhayyuddin red their papers. Speaking on the occasion, Shamim Haider appealed to the people to minimise the use of energy which would help government to overcome energy crisis in the country. He lauded the efforts of the IEP in conserving the electricity in the larger interest of the nation. The other speakers also stressed the need for designing and constructing buildings in such a way that could not get cold in winter and hot in summer. They said that energy could be saved by providing data to the people on building energy performance and using weather supporting material in construction of the buildings to control very high or low temperature. They hoped that IEP would continue to organize such like lectures to make acquaint the people about energy saving and help the govt to overcome energy crisis facing the country.
