KARACHI - Malir District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Yameen, Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Aslam Sheikh and others visited the district jail on Sunday.

According to a statement, the district and sessions judge was also accompanied by Saleem Khan, the senior vice-chairman of the Saiban, an international organisation, and representative of DC Malir, Ghulam Haider Chandio. They went round various barracks, met prisoners and inquired about the details of their ongoing cases.

The judge, Muhammad Yameen, met with prisoners in barracks and listened to their problems, and assured them of dispensation of speedy justice.

During his visit to various barracks, 27 prisoners informed him that they had completed their sentence, but were still in the jail, as they could not pay the fine imposed on them.

Upon this, Saiban Chairman Haq Nawaz Akhtar paid their fine, traveling expenses and got them released. A total of 27 prisoners were released.
