ISLAMABAD - Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources on Monday removed Naeem Yahya Mir, the Managing Director of Pakistan State Oil ostensibly for poor performance, while Amjad Parvez Janjua, a senior general manager of the state-owned entity has assumed the charge on interim basis, sources said.

The sources also said that following the approval of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to send the MD PSO on packing, the petroleum ministry removed the top official and a senior general manager of the company (PSO) has immediately taken the charge as acting MD for only three months. And, to run the affairs of state-owned oil giant, a regular appointment of the top official would be made possible within three months, the sources added.
