Acting DCO Safeena Siddique has appreciated the noble services of NGOs, especially of those rendering services to TB patients and providing dialysis facilities to the poor patients free of cost.
Addressing annual meeting-cum-Iftar Dinner of Anjuma Falaho Behbood-e-Insaniat and Anjuman Khidmat-e-Insaniat which are running Dialysis Centre and TB Clinic in Hafizabad since long, she appealed to the philanthropists to donate generously towards the NGOs to enable them run these centres smoothly as well as to get the blessings of Almighty Allah. She praised that serving ailing humanity was great worship. She also assured the NGOs that the administration would fully cooperate with them for the successful running of these two useful clinic/centres.
Earlier, Patron of the Anjuman Falaho Behbood-e-Insaniat told the meeting that the Dialysis Centres were started in 2004 and they were thankful to Muhammad Shafique Naqshbani, Chairman Noor Foundation UK who had provided dialysis machines worth over Rs10 million. At present seven machines were smoothly working and the centre has carried out 26,000 dialysis so far. He said that about Rs6 million was being spent annually on the provision of free service dialysis and this amount was provided by the well-to-do people of the area.
Anti-TB Clinic President Dr Muhammad Yasin and General Secretary Sheikh Muhammad Nafees told the meeting that during the year ended on June 30, 549 patients including 246 women and 22 children were provided treatment of which 237 patients had been saved from this white menace. They said that TB was a curable disease and urged the audience to create awareness among the people so that the area could be cleared of this fatal disease.
