HANGU - As many as nine staff members of Hangu Water Management Department, including a deputy director and an engineer were kidnapped along with two vehicles at gunpoint from Doaba area here on Sunday. The abducted officials include Deputy Director Masudur Rehman, Engineer Abdul Lateef, RDO Qaiser Raza, Sub-Engineer Hussain Akbar Khan, head of the inspection team Abdul Qadir Marwat, In-Charge operation Zulfiqar, driver Abdul Hadi, Shakirullah and Azizullah. They were kidnapped by unknown persons form the jurisdiction of Doaba-Sarozai area when they were on their way to Peshawar after the inspection of a newly launched water scheme in Doaba. The officials of the Hangu Water Management Department when contacted confirmed the kidnapping. Police have cordoned off some parts of the area where the incident had taken place. So far no one has claimed the responsibility of the incident.
