Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday announced to double the development funds for members of National Assembly from Rs 10 million to Rs 20 million. Speaking in the National Assembly, he said the decision has been taken after the house unanimously passed the budget for the fiscal year 2009-10. The Prime Minister referring to the bill for the prevention of domestic violence, which has been transmitted to the house from the concerned committee after discussion, said the government was committed to protect the rights of oppressed members of society. He said all over the world there are laws for the protection of women and children and their rights adding that forcing children into labour was an important issue in the country.
