LAHORE (PR) - Lahore Police Chief Zulfiqar Hameed has put a ban on leaves as well as transfers of police officials during the holy month of Ramazan, a press release said on Sunday.

Addressing a meeting of District Peace Committee at Police Lines, the CCPO said that about 12000 police officials would perform duties to provide foolproof security to 3586 Mosques and Imambargahs of the city and maintain law and order during the holy month. He added that snipers would be deputed at rooftops of 268 sensitive sites of the city while commandos would also be deployed for patrolling around the sensitive areas including mosques and Imambargahs especially at the time of Fajar and Isha.

The police chief directed all divisional SPs to keep liaison with the “Muntazmeen” (Administrators) of the mosques in their respective areas. There should be only one entrance of worship places and every person should be allowed to enter mosques or Imambargahs after a thorough search, he added. Members of district peace committee including Javed Abkar Saqi, Pir Muhammad Usman Noori, Allama Mushtaq Hussain Jaffri, Khawaja Basharat Hussain Karbalaee, Sardar Bashon Singh, Sardar Akhtar Singh besides senior police officers were also present.
