A girl succumbed to burn injuries during her way to hospital as a boy, who was desirous of marrying her, set the victim on fire after his marriage proposal was refused by her parents.
Deceased Sidra and accused Fayaz were residents of Chak 296-GB. Fayaz sent his parents to Sidra’s family for engagement but they refused over which Fayaz went to the house of Sidra on Saturday night and set her ablaze.
She was admitted to DHQ Hospital wherefrom, doctors referred her to Faisalabad Allied Hospital but she succumbed to the burn wounds in the way to hospital. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has sought a report from Toba district police officer in this regard.
