Govt utilising all resources to end load-shedding: Asif

SIALKOT  - Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Sunday said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government was utilizing all available resources to end load shedding in the country.
Addressing at the Sialkot Transport Company and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), he said that several new power projects were being initiated across the country to cope with power crisis,  adding that many countries were negotiating with the government for providing electricity to Pakistan.  He said the government had focused its attention on provision of electricity to the industrial sector to ensure the productivity adding that industrial sector was playing an instrumental role not only in strengthening national economy but also providing employment opportunities to thousand industrial workers across the country. The Minister said that there was a visible improvement in electricity supply as compared to previous years and we have successfully managed to eliminate possibilities of forced and unscheduled load shedding in the country. The Minister said that Regional Office of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) would soon be established in Sialkot to address the public complaints at local level. The Minister also assured that problems confronting the Sialkot Transport Company would be resolved at the earliest to facilitate the general public of Sialkot and its adjoining areas.
Chairman Board of Directors Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) Babar Iqbal, Acting President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Mian Muhammad Anwar and Chief Executive Officer Sialkot Transport Company Naeem Qureshi and others were also present on the occasion.
