LAKKI MARWAT - The local chapter of Subject Specialist Association has demanded of the provincial government to finalise promotions of school cadre officers and issue a notification to this effect without any delay.
The demand was made at a meeting held here on Sunday with association’s District President Taj Muhammad in chair. Among others General Secretary Tarikullah and office holders of the organisation were in the attendance.
Speaking at the meeting the teachers’ leaders said that provincial rulers made tall claims to bring reforms in education sectors but they failed to implement their vision and agenda in the last one year.
They said that hundreds of school cadre officers including subject specialists, headmasters and principals had been deprived of their due right of promotion since long.
“We repeatedly requested the higher authorities concerned to convene a meeting of provincial selection board to finalise promotion cases but to no avail,” they regretted.
They said that the schools running without headmasters and principals could not deliver quality education.
“Many teachers waiting for promotion reached the age of superannuation but their dreams to get next scales could not be materialised,” they maintained. They appealed to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, provincial education minister chief secretary and other higher functionaries to take notice of the matter and accept the genuine demand of promotion of officers of school cadre.
