Yes. The title says most of it but not all. Obviously, we are directly affected by whatever happens in that sister concern country of ours (Amreeka).  Now, obviously I too have a take on it. I know the world is just waiting to hear my thoughts on it.

Let’s just exclude the “liberal” community of Pakistan. I don’t blame them for anything. To them everything is okay and not okay. Just a confused bunch a people. I used to be a liberal, so I know. Now, I think I am more of a not-so-reluctant fundamentalist. Anyhow, moving forward.

My statements/questions are all referred to the people who do not support the gay marriage being legalized in USA. Bee tee dubs, it was already legal, but in some states. Now it is legal in all states, so I really don’t see the point of flaring your nostrils NOW. So, get your facts right first. I mean does it matter if it is legalized in all states now. I mean people were “sinning” before too, you bunch of eye-brow raising people.

My Facebook newsfeed was flooded with posts calling the event as a sign of qayamat, the end of times, etc. Flooded.  I tell you.

Before I make my point, let me clarify. I don’t support it. The same way I don’t support drinking, prostitution, corruption etc. But I have not and will not judge a person or a group of people by their sexuality. If you are gay, okay. If you are not, okay. Like, that does not matter to me. I treat people as humans.

Now let’s come to the point: our society, yes you self-righteous people, the constant reminders of end of times; do protest. Please do. Place that “anti” stamp on that rainbow and curse the ignorant ones and give references of Quran and Hadith and preach it all. Do that. Good. Don’t be neutral. Ever.

But how many of you – those of you who are “disgusted” by the idea and whose dil aur dimagh ka chain (peace of heart and mind) has been disturbed by gay marriage being legalized in a country far, far away – pray regularly 5 times a day?

How many of you fast?

How many of you tell the truth?

How many of do not lie?

How many of you care about your neighbors?

How many of you take care of orphans?

How many of you would take care of a widow in your premises?

How many of you give zakat?

How many of you respect the women around you?

How many of you are concerned about “huqooq-ul-ibad”?

How many of you are honest, sincere citizens?

How many of you “do” anything about Muslims being butchered all over the world?

Would you say that you pray? “fajar ki miss hojati hai”.

You lie to your parents, your friends, your colleagues. Everybody lies to everybody.

Do you not ogle at every female that crosses your path?

3 year olds are raped in this country. People die of natural calamities and nobody bats an eye. 4 out of every 6 people are victims of street crime (in particular areas). Our education system is ruined. Domestic violence. Injustice. Eunuchs are treated horribly (again, humans). Mosques are led by “jahil” maulvis. Jahil, I repeat jahil. People cannot marry because of our “cultural” norms. And not to forget those rights-stealing, lying-to-your-face, ignoring-your-problems and going-on-foreign-tours (on your paisa) people that you elected as your leaders. So many Muslim countries and yet no unity (thanks to gay people, they unite us over something). There is interest, corruption, prostitution, drinking, adultery, bribery; you name the sin, we have it. And you are a part of it.

Yes, so, maybe, instead, let’s start with the things mentioned above, which you being a “righteous” Muslim are not doing. I mean, it is Ramzan and people are not even fasting. That’s not important. But, yes, let’s discuss gay marriages being legal and how Allah will destroy these people. Newsflash: Allah will show HIS wrath to them but you guys aint goin’ nowhere either. You goin’ down with them. In fact, you people (including myself) are much worse. We are Muslims and we commit all shameful deeds under that banner so that makes us much, much, much worse. That makes us disgusting. Amar bil maroof wa nahi anil munkar. I hope I am saying it right. Do it then preach it. Otherwise, really just SHUTUP!

We are a bunch of illiterate people who just start talking and give opinions about anything without understanding the greater meaning of it all. Every time. Protest about things when you are in the position of doing it. As for the end of times, it started the moment Adam ate that apple. You want to get ready for it? Become a better human being and a better Muslim. And you won’t become that if you just blindly follow anything that is “trending”. Use those brains, people.
