HAFIZABAD-The special price magistrates in the district have challaned 300 profiteers and arrested 28 others under the Essential Price Control Act. Criminal cases have been registered against four profiteers during the past 21 days of Ramazan. Under the orders of the provincial government, the they had launched special crackdown on the profiteers and collected total fine of Rs864,000 from 300 shopkeepers and vendors for selling essential commodities over and above the fixed rates. Meanwhile, the DCO has directed the SPMs to continue strict monitoring and crackdown on the profiteers to provide some sort of relief for the common man.
