ISLAMABAD - State Minister for IT Anusha Rahman said on Wednesday that there would be no sales tax on desktops and laptops from July 2016 onwards.
While chairing the 33rd meeting of Pakistan Software Board, she said the IT industry would reciprocate to these tax incentives by remitting all its income to Pakistan to reflect its real growth and potential. The Board was also updated on CMMI and ISO training and certification programme by MD PSEB.
“Under the programme, nine companies will be trained and certified in CMMI while eight companies each will be trained and certified in ISO 27001 and ISO 20000 standards during 2016-17,” it was informed.
The minister said that these international certifications would improve the quality of processes and products/services of IT companies, and would increase their credibility in the eyes of their foreign customers.
“These will also help the companies generate new business avenues and exports opportunities as well,” Anusha added.
She directed the PSEB MD to collaborate with the P@SHA chairman to plan a kickoff ceremony for CMMI and ISO trainings and certifications.
