ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan on Friday suspended Senate membership of former finance minister Ishaq Dar.

In its notification, the ECP pursuant to the order of the Supreme Court in a civil appeal suspend the notification dated March 9 to the extent of Muhammad Ishaq Dar whereby he was declared as returned candidate from the Senate of Pakistan against seat reserved for technocrats including Ulema from Punjab province.

Ishaq Dar facing a number of corruption cases filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is in London for medical treatment. He could not take oath of Senator so far.
