ATC adjourns Lalwani murder case till July 12

SUKKUR   -  Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Sukkur on Tuesday adjourned the murder case of journalist Ajay Lalwani till July 12 due to the absence of defence counsel. The case could not proceed in the absence of defence counsel but main accused, including ex-chairman town committee Saleh Pat Inayat Shah, vice-chairman Ihsan Shah, former Station House Officer Ashiq Mirani, Akbar Mangrio, Mustafa and Janib Shah had appeared before the court. It is to be mentioned here that journalist Ajay Lalwani was allegedly assassinated by the accused on March 18, in Saleh Pat in Sukkur district.

BISE announces SSC exams from July 5

Controller of Examinations, Board of Intermediate and Science Education (BISE) Sukkur, Rafique Ahmed Palh on Tuesday announced that annual examinations of Secondary School Certificate (SSC- Part I and Part II) will commence from July 5, 2021 in Sukkur region. The eligible candidates have been advised to appear in the examinations as per announced schedule.

Commissioner stresses protection of embankments

Commissioner Sukkur Shafique Mahesar on Tuesday has directed all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Taluka Municipal Administrators (TMAs) of the Sukkur division to ensure foolproof arrangements to cope with any eventuality that could occur during the expected rains. He said that protecting people from the problems that could be created by the rains is the top priority. The commissioner ordered for extraordinary measures for the maintenance and protection of embankments to ward off the flooding threat. On this occasion, Executive Engineer Sukkur Barrage said that all the protective dykes were safe and strong enough to face the situation and alertness at the sensitive point had also been increased.
