Cloudy sky makes weather pleasant

LAHORE - There was no rain in Lahore on Sunday but it remained cloudy and pleasant with maximum temperature of 27 degree Celsius in the day and a minimum of 15. The lowest minimum temperature of 8 Celsius in Punjab was recorded at Murree in Punjab, while Kalam with 3 Celsius was the coldest place in the country. The highest temperature never exceeded 28 C in Punjab, which was recorded at Khanpur. The yesterday's westerly wave over northern parts of the country still persisted but with low intensity. Its intensity is likely to decrease within next 48 hours, as no fresh weather system is likely to affect Pakistan. However, the current westerly wave still hovers over the Northern Areas, Kashmir and NWFP. The Met Office has predicted cloudy weather today (Monday), while scattered rain is expected in Northern areas and Kashmir. During the last 24 hours, Peshawar received 17 mm of rain with Murree 13, Kotli and Rohri 12 each, Balakot 10, Kakul 8, Rawalakot and Cherat 7 each along with traces of rain Sialkot, Lahore, Islamabad, Jhelum, Skardu and Kohat.
