President, PM condenms attack on Lahore police academy

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani on Monday strongly condemned the attack by gunmen at a police-training centre in Lahore. In their separate messages, the President and Prime Minister vowed that the perpetrators of such heinous crime would be brought to justice. They directed the concerned authorities to take stringent and effective measures against those responsible for this dastardly act. Prime Minister, Yusuf Raza Gilani in his statement expressed his deep sorrow and sympathy with the heirs of those, who were martyred in the incident and all those injured. The prime minister telephonically ordered interior advisor and the Punjab Governor to take effective measures for bringing the situation at the centre under control. He also ordered for aerial surveillance of training centre area. Interior Advisor, Rahman Malik in his statement said that Rangers have also been deployed for helping the other law enforcing agencies in the rescue operation. He said that LEOs have been put on high alert all across the country.
