lahore - Pakistan Railways has prepared insurance policy for passengers and train staff during travelling and invited tenders from the insurance companies.
An official of the railways said that in case of any tragedy to train, the deceased passenger/employee family will be paid Rs one million while severely and minor injured will be given Rs0.2 million and Rs50,000 respectively. The insurance money will be included in tickets. The official said that 32 paisas will be taken from each passenger for the insurance.
In another development, a Chinese company “China Power Company” has offered its cooperation for the up-gradation of Peshawar-Karachi main lane (ML-1). The company will cooperate in other projects as well, said a statement issued by the Railways here on Saturday.  A meeting between the Railways GM (Operations) Anjum Pervez and four members Chinese delegation was held, in this regard, at Railways headquarter. The matter will be soon finalised, added the statement.  Meanwhile, the Railways administration has announced one minute stoppage of Khushhal Khan Khattak Express (19Up/20Down) and Mehar Express (127Up/28Down) at Chora Sharif Railways Station in Peshawar division during the urs of Aastana Aalia Norya on 3rd and 4th April.
