KARACHI - Disabled Welfare Association (DWA) on Thursday staged token hunger strike outside Karachi Press Club against the misconduct of provincial minister of social welfare with the disabled people. The participants demanded an inquiry into the corruption made by the officials in the department. According to details, a large number of disabled people participated in the strike, who were carrying placards and banners and chanting slogans against the Provincial Minister of Social Welfare Nargis ND Khan. Addressing the participants, DWA representatives Javid Rais, Lal Mohammad Baloch, Faisal Baloch and Irfan Iqbal had demanded to conduct inquiry against the involved culprits and those who took commissions (bribe) from the special grant released by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah for the disabled people.They demanded to PM Gilani, Asif Zardari, CM Sindh to take notice on this regard.
