KARACHI - Iqbal Haider, Co-Chairperson, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) Sindh chapter and Vice Chairperson Ghazi Salahuddin have expressed concern over the arrest of two Baloch leaders and human rights activists namely Wahab Baloch, president Baloch Rights Council and Ghulam Muhammad Baloch on Wednesday. According to the HRCP officials, the commission is distressed to learn that when the said persons left the HRCP office, law-enforcement agencies' personnel arrested them and took them to an unknown place. On Thursday morning, it was discovered that Wahab Baloch was still missing. Police have admitted that Ghulam Muhammad Baloch was in the custody of PS Frere and an FIR has been registered against him for delivering a provocative speech outside the Karachi Press Club. HRCP believes that this amounts to outright harassment and victimisation of the Baloch leaders and human rights defenders.  There is no lawful reason or justification for arresting the two leaders and implicating Ghulam Muhammad Baloch in a false case.  The HRCP strongly condemned this illegal act and demanded immediate release of Wahab Baloch and Ghulam Muhammad Baloch.
