Japan's unemployment rate hit a seven-month high of 4.0 percent in April, rising from 3.8 percent the previous month, official figures showed Friday.The seasonally adjusted figure was slightly worse than average market forecasts for a rate of 3.9 percent and the highest since September 2007 when the rate was also 4.0 percent.The jobless rate for men rose to 4.0 percent from 3.8 percent while that for women held steady at 3.9 percent, the internal affairs ministry said.The labour ministry separately announced the ratio of job offers to job seekers came to 0.93 in April, meaning there were only 93 offers for every 100 job applicants, slightly worse than expected.
