ISLAMABAD - National Highways & Motorway Police Thursday recovered four snatched/stolen vehicles and arrested one car-lifter. As per details, Motorway Police was informed by Lahore police that a blue Suzuki Mehran car No LEA-7110 had been stolen from Lahore and according to tracking system; the same car was now travelling on Motorway. On this information, all the patrolling vehicles of NH&MP were got alerted. After few minutes, the Motorway Police officers stopped the said car through commando action near Sheikhupura on Motorway and arrested one car lifter named Amanoil Masih, son of Sabir Masih resident of Sargodha while his two accomplices managed to flee away. In another incident, Islamabad Police informed the NH&MP that a Honda Civic car No IDJ-8756 had been stolen. After few minutes, the Motorway Police officers recovered the said car near Islamabad Toll Plaza while the culprits fled away. The Motorway Police took the car into custody and informed the local police which was in search of the absconder. In third incident, an information regarding the snatching of a Suzuki Mehran car No. IDE-2087 was also received. On the information of Capital police, all the patrolling officers of NH&MP were got alerted. After sometime, the Motorway Police officers observed the said vehicle entering from Islamabad Toll Plaza and tried to stop the car. But the culprit sped away. However, on chasing by Motorway Police, the culprits left the vehicle after going some far away and fled away by taking advantage of darkness. The Motorway Police officer took the car into custody and informed the local police, which is in search of the absconders. In another incident, the Motorway Police got an information that a corolla car No KT-605 had been stolen form Rawalpindi. It was also told that as per tracking system the car was near the motorway. On this information, all the patrolling officers of NH&MP were got alerted. After sometime, the Motorway Police officers observed the said vehicle entering from Islamabad Toll Plaza. However, the culprit observed the alertness of the officers and reversed the car to flee away. The Motorway police tried to stop the car. But the culprit tried to hit the officers and sped away on the link road. However, on chasing by Motorway Police, the culprit left the vehicle after going some far away and fled away by crossing the fence. The Motorway Police officer took the car into custody and informed the local police, which was in search of the absconder. Later on, the Motorway Police handed over the recovered vehicles along with the arrested culprit to the local police for further legal action and investigation.
