LAHORE (Online) - A five-day meeting of Pakistan and India Indus Water Commissioners starts on Friday (today) in Lahore. Syed Jamaat Ali Shah will lead the Pakistani delegation whereas Aranga Nathan will head the Indian delegation. Besides the routine agenda taken up on annual basis, the Pakistani team will also raise the contentious issues with special focus on Kishan Ganga and Baglihar hydropower-cum-water storage project of India on the Chenab River in Occupied Kashmir. The commissioners would discuss annual agenda which includes exchange of information regarding the monsoon season to avert the possibilities of flood. It is pertinent to note that the meeting was scheduled to be held on May 26 but it was postponed on the request of India.
