ISLAMABAD-Federal Ministry for Local Government and Rural Development has demanded Rs 150 million for PSDP 2009-10 from the government for provision of civic amenities in Kutchi Abadis in Islamabad. According to the official document available with TheNation, LG & RD ministry intends to launch two new schemes in the upcoming fiscal year and demanded Rs 300 million for PSDP 2009-10 of the government. The new schemes include Integration and Development of Kutchi Abadis/Urban Slums under PM 100 Days Action Plan with total estimated cost of Rs 600 million while the ministry has demanded Rs 150 million for PSDP 2009-10 and Provision of Civic Amenities in Kutchi Abadis in Islamabad with total estimated cost of Rs 300 million out of which the ministry has demanded Rs 150 million for PSDP 2009-10. The document tells that the Ministry is currently running 8 schemes for which it has demanded Rs 4195.660 million for PSDP 2009-10. One of the mega ongoing schemes of the ministry is the Construction and Planning of Rural Access Roads in the Country for which the ministry has demanded Rs 3700 million for the upcoming fiscal year 2009-10. For the on-going schemes the ministry has demanded Rs 48.870 million for Establishment of Planning & Monitoring Cell; Rs 8.940 million for Human and Physical Resources Development Project of AHK NCRD & MA; Rs 28.650 million for Rural Reconstruction and Enterprise Development for Rural Prosperity in All Pakistan; Rs 35.780 million for Urban Renewal and Small Town Development for Rural Connectivity in Pakistan All Pakistan PSDP; Rs 20 million for Strategic Programme Preparation and Plan Development for Regulation and Rehabilitation of Katchi Abadies All Pakistan; Rs 253.420 million for Gender Justice through Musallhat Anjuman Project and Rs 100 million for Institutional Strengthening, Capacity Development and Data Base Preparation for PSDP 2009-10. The document reveals that the total demand of the ministry of LG&RD for PSDP 2009-10 is Rs 4495.660 million for all 10 on-going and new schemes.
