RAWALPINDI Pindi police is using lame excuses and delaying tactics to register a case against their peti bhais (colleagues), an ASI and two constables, in a murder attempt on TheNations staffer Ghulam Abbas. According to details, an Assistant Sub-Inspector Safdar and two constables of RA Bazaar Police Station, while looking for some accused person, humiliated and physically abused Ghulam Abbas at his house located in Nishtar Street, Muslim Town on Saturday. Without any search warrant, the ASI along with 40 other people entered the house of Ghulam Abbas. Later, an application was filed with Police Station Sadiqabad for registration of case against the said police personnel and other persons. However, the police did not register the case against the intruders till filing of the report. Interestingly, RA Bazaar Police ASI Safdar by entering the house illegally not only showed his utter disregard to the sanctity of law and general values but also violated the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad Police Station, as he had no prior permission from the authorities concerned. It is pertinent to mention here that the accused the police were looking for lived somewhere else, while the police entered the house of Ghulam Abbas. When this scribe contacted the Acting Station House Officer (SHO) of Sadiqabad Police Station SI Zafar, he said that investigation in this regard was underway. To a question why an ASI of another police station entered the house of a respectable citizen without informing the concerned police, he said that as punishment the said ASI has been dismissed by the SP Headquarters. To another question, he said that upon the direction of high-ups he was ready to register the case against the intruders. DSP New Town Circle has also assured action against the intruders. He said this would be done after the departmental inquiry report. Despite concrete evidences of intrusion by the said ASI, two constables and as many as 40 persons, the police is using delaying tactics in registering the case. Punjab Chief Ministers favourite police is using delaying tactics only to linger on the matter and to save its peti bhais, said TheNations staffer Ghulam Abbas.
