ISLAMABAD - The District Health Department of ICT Administration Tuesday claimed to have completed all the necessary arrangements for launching four-day anti-polio drive in eight specific union councils of the Capital Territory starting from June 4.
A spokesman of the Administration informed that as many as 44399 children would be immunized against polio during the sub-immunization campaign for which 113 teams had been constituted. He further said that 99 mobile teams would visit door to door in remote areas.
The Health Department has set up seven points and transit points in the each of the specified union councils for the purpose of immunization campaign.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Amer Ali Ahmed, reviewed the arrangements for the campaign and directed the concerned officials to ensure 100 per cent coverage during the drive. Assistant Commissioners concerned and District Health Officer, Islamabad, would be present in field to monitor the progress of the immunization campaign. Four union councils in-charges and 23 area in-charges would also monitor the performance of teams and would submit their reports to the Deputy Commissioner office on daily basis.
