LAHORE – Sri Lankan dengue experts on Tuesday visited Nishter Town for vector surveillance. The experts went door to door for detection of larva. Senior officers of Health Department and CDGL also accompanied them. Experts including Dr Tissera, Dr Paba and Dr Weeraman also visited Lahore General Hospital and Jinnah Hospital where they took a round of High Dependency Units (HDUs), Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and dengue cells. On this occasion, Principal PGMI and LGH Prof Tariq Salahuddin and Principal Jinnah Hospital Prof Javed Akram briefed the delegation about the arrangements for the treatment of dengue patients in their hospitals. Later, the Sri Lankan delegation also visited Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) and exchanged views with the Chairman of Dengue Expert Advisory Group, Prof Faisal Masood. They discussed clinical management of dengue patients. The delegation also attended a training workshop arranged for general practitioner at SIMS.
