ISLAMABAD - The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Law and Justice has called Federal Law Minister Farooq Naik and Mian Raza Rabbani for consultation on new provinces in its next meeting.
The standing committee, which met at the Parliament House on Tuesday under Nasim Akhtar, directed Interior Minister Rehman Malik to secure the release of women held hostage in Kohistan and submit a report to it.
The committee also sought the viewpoint of Election Commission on reserved seats for the special people and women. The Law Secretary told the meeting that the Hadood Ordinance is in accordance with the Holy Quran and Sunnah and no amendment can be made.
He said there was a clear-cut law regarding punishments to the minors.
