ISLAMABAD - National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Tuesday increased the tariff of electricity, second time in a week, by Rs 1.97 per unit. The regulatory body approved the revision of rate for the month of April in accordance with the monthly fuel price adjustment. The official notification of the revised tariff will be issued soon, sources say.After the tariff raise, the additional amount of April’s bill will be collected from the subscribers in the month of November.The revised tariff notification will be applicable to all the electric supply companies of the country except for the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC). Moreover, the subscribers all over the country using less than 100 units would be exempted from this price raise.The Nepra allows the increase or decrease in the electricity tariff every month, after considering the monthly fuel price adjustment and analysing expenses of the electric supply companies.
