ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has announced to complete the repatriation process of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) by the end of the current year.
Talking to a news channel, Jhagra said effective measures were being taken for smooth return of the IDPs by the end of 2016, ensuring speedy development in the areas of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
Re-launching trade activities would be amongst the top priorities of the government once the repatriation process was complete, anticipated the provincial governor.
Jhagra also acknowledged the hard times people of the terror-hit tribal areas have gone through in the recent years. He said it was due to their sacrifices and efforts that peace has been restored in the FATA and across the country.
He said the repatriation process of the IDPs was running as planned and the government was positive that all the IDPs would return safely to their homes.
Stressing on the need of acquiring quality education, Jhagra said all-out efforts would be made to ensure 100 per cent literacy rate in the FATA as only an educated society could produce responsible and productive members
