Quality education govt’s topmost priority: Dr Firdous

LAHORE   -  Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that promotion of quality education is the top priority of the PTI government for which no stone will be left unturned.

Talking to the media after inaugurating university programs at Girls College Kubay Chak, Sialkot on Saturday, she said that the government would continue to make all-out efforts for the provision of education to female students in remote and backward areas. Dr Firdous said the government was focusing on increasing women’s literacy rate. She said the government was endeavoring to materialise the dream of Iqbal’s vision of Pakistan into reality and working hard to get rid of the economic crisis. She said that quality education for all was essential for the economic improvement of society. The government was paying special attention to impart quality education to female students. ‘I have no doubt that every rupee spent for this purpose is not an expenditure but an investment, which will pave the way for future dividends for our state and society,’ she said.

Dr Firdous said the PTI government under the leadership of PM Imran Khan was determined to take women to mainstream. She said that empowering women was the mission of the PTI government and historic steps had been taken in this regard. The government was taking steps to make women of backward areas economically and socially strong.

The SACM said the country was facing a price-hike today due to the mismanagement of the former governments. She said the government’s decision to raise the salaries of government employees by 25 per cent would alleviate their financial difficulties. The critics would continue to speak lies while the PTI government continue rapid development in the country, she said. She said the country was becoming self-reliant and the improving economic indicators were the result of the efforts of the PM’s economic team.

She said the past regimes had weakened the national institutions but the PTI government was taking steps to strengthen them. No one was above the law and the looters of public exchequer must return to the country, she said.

She further said that PM Imran Khan would soon lay the foundation stone of Mother & Child Hospital in Sialkot. Under the leadership of CM Usman Buzdar, employment opportunities were being provided to females. The need of the hour was to engage educated women and empower them for the country’s economic development, she said.
