RAWALPINDI - Afghan Club surprised Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) with 2-1 win in the Eight Pakistan Premier Football League here at the Rawalpindi Municipal Football Ground on Tuesday. KRL who remained undefeated throughout this campaign were looking sharp as usual before they were stunned by the outsiders Afghan Club. KRL started the match in whirlwind fashion and put the Afghan defence under sword in the early exchanges. But it were Afghan Club boys who drew the first blood in 18th minute through Najeeb Ullah who was quick to take full advantage from the defensive lapse as a KRL defender and goalkeeper collided with each other. The score remained 1-0 in the favour of Afghan club at half-time. KRL, who were trying their best to get an equaliser, were shocked again in 50th minute when Afghan Club doubled their lead through Ahmed Shah. KRL got one goal back in the 67th minute through Saad Ullah. But despite an all-out attack, KRL failed to level the terms and conceded the first defeat in the tournament In another match played at Railway Football Ground Lahore, Wapda beat Baloch FC 2-0. Wapda captain Arif Mehmood scored both the goals in the 39th and 79th minutes to land his side home.
