OUR STAFF REPORTER OKARA - Armed men snatched Rs 400,000 from a trader and his companion of Okara and thrashed them in Rawalpindi here. However, the police have recovered the trader and his friend but the criminals managed to escape. The money was snatched in the wake of a deal to purchase two tractors between Abdus Sattar, a resident of Kirpa Ram Okara and owner of the tractors Gulzar Bungush. Rs 20,000 were paid in advance to Hameed, a commission agent. According to promise, after 8 days, Abdus Sattar and his agent Mehmood Khan went to Rawalpindi. On the phone, Hameed said that the owner of the tractors was present at Pir Wadhai Bus Stand. As soon as Abdus Sattar with his agent reached there, Gulzar Bukhash with his companions armed with weapons held them on gunpoint kidnapped them along with Rs 3,50,000. The accused allegedly snatched the amount from them. Later, the victims brother Mohammad Iqbal reached Rawalpindi and with the help of police he got his brother and his agent released but the police failed to arrest the accused.
