Hearing of suo moto of Pindi shootout

LAHORE Inspector General of Police Punjab on Tuesday submitted in the Lahore High Court a comprehensive security plan for all courts and bar associations in the province. Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed heard suo moto case in which four assailants had gunned down their three rivals the moment they entered the Rawalpindi court premises. Their indiscriminate firing also claimed life of a passerby. The IGP, in his report, informed the court that police chalked out the security plan after prolonged discussions with representatives of district bars of the province. Different committees comprising bars leaders had been made to maintain law and order on courts premises, report said adding the regional and district police officers will be held responsible instead of station house officers concerned, if incidents like killing would occur in future. The chief justice adjourned further hearing till Dec 15 and directed LHC human rights & vigilance cell director general Kazim Ali Malik to file his inquiry report.
