LAHORE A newly-married bridegroom was electrocuted to death whereas a 20-year-old unidentified youth was knocked down by a vehicle in separate incidents in the City on Tuesday. According to the details, a 25-year-old bridegroom namely Akhtar of Depalpur was married some three months back and was settled in Johar Town police area. He was labourer by profession and worked as mason, a senior police officer said, adding here on Tuesday morning, he suffered a critical electric shock and fell unconscious. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him as dead. Later, police recovered the body and maintained a hand of the deceased had touched an electric wire. The body was removed to the City morgue for autopsy. Meanwhile, a 20-year-old unnamed motorcyclist was crushed to death by two racing vehicles in Shahdara Town police area. The incident took place on GT Road in Rana Town where two racing vehicles collided with each other and the motorcyclist, who was next to those, sustained severe injuries and died instantly. The body was removed to the City morgue for his post mortem but ironically the police were using delaying tactics in lodging the FIR. Mysterious death: A 35-year-old unidentified youth died mysteriously in Tibbi City police area on Tuesday. Police found a body lying on footpath near Lady Walingdon Hospital. After recovering the body, police made numerous announcements in nearby mosques but none of the citizens claimed to own the body, which was removed to the City morgue for autopsy. Further investigations are underway.
