SAHIWAL - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Shraif, asking the rulers to shun foreign aid, has said the entire nation has to decide whether it wants an honourable life or of humiliation and disgrace. Talking to media persons after offering dua at the residence of martyred soldier, Capt Muhammad Usman, during a recent Nato raid on military checkposts in Mohmand Agency, he said President Zardari was responsible for countrys humiliation and disgrace. Senior advisor Sardar Zufiqar Khan Khosa, Punjab Minster for Zakat and Usher Malik Nadeem Kamran, MNA Pir Imran Ahmad Shah, MPAs M Arshad Jat, Malik Jalal Din Dahkoo, Pir Khizar Hayat Khagga, District Chairman Zakat Committee Haji Ehsanul Haq Idrees, local PML-N leaders Malik M Arshad, Pir Walayat Shah Khagga and IZ Bhati were also present on the occasion. The chief minister said, I will not utter a political statement, but want to tell that Punjab government has decided not to accept foreign aid at the cost of honour and dignity of the nation. He said the whole nation was proud of its military personnel who sacrificed their lives to safeguard the dear motherland and according to the Holy Quran the martyrs were alive. People of Pakistan will never forget sacrifices of our martyrs, Shahbaz added. The chief minister asked the federal government and whole nation to decide on foreign aid or continue to lead a life of humiliation and disgrace. On the occasion widow of Shaheed Capt, Tooba Usman appealed to CM Shahbaz Shraif that they should get out of the war on terror which was being fought for the foreign forces. At the residence of martyred Capt M Usman, Shahbaz expressed his sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He assured the nation that the blood of the martyred would not go in vain who sacrificed their lives defending the country. Later, on the recommendation of provincial Minster for Zakat and Usher Malik Nadeem Kamran, CM named the Jhal Road after martyred officer as Usman Shaheed Road. Shahbaz said if the 100 million people of Punjab could live without US aid then the entire nation could also do so. He said the temporary decisions would not lead to lasting solution of the problem. Our soldiers are being killed by those for whom we are fighting war, he said. He said that the Punjab government refused to take US aid six month ago and the people of Punjab were still alive.
