LAHORE Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is facing internal and external conspiracies and its enemies want to destabilize it. He said at this juncture the country was passing through the most critical phase of its history and only united efforts by the whole nation could steer it out of the crisis. He said that Ulema should play their active role for sending the message of peace and brotherhood in the society. The CM was talking to a delegation of Ulema here on Tuesday. Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Provincial Auqaf Minister Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi, MPA, Mian Muhammad Noman, Maulana Ilyas Chinioti and Kh. Ahmad Hassaan were also present on the occasion. The CM said that foreign assistance of billions of dollars was received during the last 64 years but fate of country did not change. He said that national sovereignty is being violated despite the fact that Pakistan is a nuclear power. He said that NATO attack should be condemned in the strongest terms and the whole nation is in a state of shock and grief over this tragedy. He said that Pakistan is facing internal and external conspiracies and its enemies want to destabilize the country. He said that due to wrong policies of the dictator, Pakistan is facing serious situation and it is need of the hour that the nation should unite to foil the evil designs of the enemy. He said that the solution to all our problems lies in Islamic teachings. He said that Ulema have always played an important role in the maintenance of law and order, harmony and promotion of sentiments of tolerance and restraint and they should step forward for ensuring religious amity and tranquillity in the society. He also issued instructions for the formation of special committee headed by Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa for reviewing the problems brought to his notice by the delegation. The delegation of Ulema assured that every sacrifice will be made for the survival and stability of the country and nefarious designs of the forces trying to weaken the country will be thwarted with unity. A special dua was also conducted for national integrity and prosperity of the country at the conclusion of the meeting. Maulana Hafiz Fazal-ul-Reheem Ashrafi, Qari Muhammad Hanif Jalandhry, Maulana Zahid-ur-Rashidi, Maulana Rashid Mian, Maulana Ahmad Mian Thanvi, Pir Saifullah Khalid, Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Maulana Zahid Mehmood Qasmi, Mufti Abdul Qavi, Maulana Muhammad Amjad Khan, Hafiz Muhammad Asad Obaid, Maulana Abdul Rauf Farooqi and Majeeb-ur-Rehman Inqalabi and Mohtimim of various madaras were present on this occasion. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Tuesady presided over a meeting to review the pace of progress on Aashiyana Housing project. Chairman Punjab Land Development Company, Sh. Allauddin, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, Senior Member Board of Revenue and the officers concerned were present. The meeting reviewed in detail Aashiyana Housing Schemes in Lahore and other districts of the province. He said that besides extension of the project of Aashiyana Housing scheme at Saroba Attari, the foundation stone of Aashiyana-II at Burki will soon be laid. He also issued instructions for accelerating the work on Aashiyana Housing schemes in the province. Earlier, Chairman Punjab Land Development Company, Sh. Allauddin gave briefing regarding the pace of implementation of Aashiyana Housing Project. Senior Member Board of Revenue informed about the identification of land in various districts for Aashiyana Housing schemes.
