LAHORE – A man clubbed his 12-year-old son to death for spending a few coins without his permission in Batapur area, police said on Thursday. The acceded told the police investigators that he had no intention to kill his son, Mohsin Ali.

Police claimed that apparently the killer, Bashir Hussain, is a drug addict.

On the day of incident, Bashir handed over a currency note to his son and asked him to fetch some kitchen items from a shop situated near to their house in Jallo Cantt area.

As the boy came back and told his father that he had spent a few remaining coins on toffees, the man got infuriated and hit him in the head with a wooden club.

Mohsin sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The police have removed the dead body to the morgue for an autopsy. A murder case has also been registered against the father on the complaint of grandfather of the deceased boy. Further investigations were underway.

Suicide: A mother of three died under mysterious circumstances in Kahna police area on Thursday. Resident of Gujju Matta, Kamran told the police that his wife, Saima Sadaf, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan. However, parents of the deceased woman alleged that Kamran killed her and later hanged her body to mislead the police. The police have detained the husband and are interrogating him. the dead body was removed to the morgue for an autopsy.

witness summoned: An anti-terrorism court on Thursday summoned prosecution witnesses in the case of acid attack on nurses  in Mayo Hospital.

The complainant recorded her statement before the court that summoned prosecution witnesses.  On August 15, Narang Mandi resident threw acid on his wife Rehmana Liaquat while her colleagues Shama Naz and Shazia, Bashiran and Imran and patient Sabira,also sustained burns.
