KARACHI – Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Abbas has directed for enhancing safety and security measures for Chinese geophysical company team entitled SINCOPE (Henan Petroleum Exploration Bureau Pakistan Branch), carrying out a seismic survey in district Badin.The chief secretary also advised the Deputy Commissioner Badin and SSP Badin to depute senior officers, to ameliorate the team from the hardship.During a meeting with the team of Chinese geophysical company team, led by Chinese Commercial Counselor, Yan Jianming entitled SINCOPE (Henan Petroleum Exploration Bureau Pakistan Branch), carrying out a seismic survey in district Badin since April 2012, who discussed security issues with the Chief Secretary. According to the official statement, the Chinese team Coordinator Wang Jindarg pointed out that they are now facing severe problems, despite, they arrived Pakistan to help our Pakistani brother to overcome the energy crisis.Moin Raza Khan Deputy Managing Director Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), a team member, informed that the SINCOPE, under an agreement with PPL is working, aimed at assisting Pakistan for locating hydrocarbon deposits, but the progress is being badly affected due to unlawful activities of some people. Moreover the problem of equipment damage and theft also enhances the uncertainty and harassment.Chief Secretary assured the team to enhance safety and security measures, to this effect. He advised the Deputy Commissioner Badin and SSP Badin to depute senior officers, to ameliorate the team from the hardship.Secretary LA Randhawa, Special Sectary Home Mudassir Iqbal, Additional IG Police Rasool Bux Saand, DC Badin and SSP Badin attended the meeting.
