Kylie Minogue ‘has bad fashion points’

KYLIE Minogue has joked that she should publish another book featuring her fashion misses.
The Australian star has released Kylie/Fashion, a photographic celebration of her key outfits and collaborations with fashion designers throughout her 25 years in the music industry.
“I don’t know where the point was where I figured it out, but I had a lot of ground to make up. I’ve definitely got a lot of moments - I should release another book of all the worst moments!” she joked at a book signing in London.
“But that’s how you learn and how you find out what your style is. The early 90s were pivotal for me because I started living in London and Paris, and met a lot of designers like Azzedine Alaia and Jean Paul Gaultier. I started meeting cool fashion photographers and hanging in that crowd. That would be the turning point.”
“When you’re in the public eye from a young age - now most of the people have stylists and teams, and have everything thrown at them - but it wasn’t like that when I started out,” she added.
Kylie, who admitted that the coffee-table book was “a lot of hard work”, has a soft spot for two particular outfits - the gold hotpants she wore for the Spinning Around music video and her lavish Showgirl costume, designed by John Galliano for her greatest hits tour. “The gold hotpants cost 50p and they became this iconic thing, and my Showgirl costume, which took hundreds of hours to make, this astonishing thing,” she said.
“I’ve done a lot of things this year to celebrate K25, my 25th year in the music business, but this has been the most difficult - finding everything and going through the archives. But I’m very proud of it.”                                                           –SN
