LAHORE – Dozens of paramedics staged protest on Thursday in front of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) to protest against delay in the provision of service structure.

In the protest, which was organized under the banner of Punjab Paramedical Alliance, the protestors criticised the government departments, health and finance, for using delaying tactics in brining the paramedic under a comprehensive service structure.

PPA leaders said that the paramedics were protesting for the last three years for service structure, regularisation of contract and ad hoc employees but the government had moved.

They maintained that the health department had not notified health risk allowance for paramedics despite the fact that the Chief Minister had approved summary some months back. They added that the government had given health professional allowance to the nurses and doctors but ignored the paramedics.
