LAHORE - The business community has urged the exporters to bring their remittances back immediately in order to stabilise dwindling rupee against dollar due to depleting foreign reserves of the country.

Expressing their concern over sharp fall in rupee against the US dollar, they demanded the SBP to intervene open market without delay, presently manipulated by the market forces aggressively for monetary benefits. It may be noted that Pak rupee has lost 48 paisa touching the record low against the US dollar at Rs96.70 in the interbank market a day earlier.

They apprehended that a dilly-dallying response from the central bank may lead to further surge in the dollar value. They said the last week intervention of the SBP had brought in positive results and there is an urgent need of doing it again in the larger interest of the national economy.
