Zakia leads function on children


LAHORE – The National Society for Special Children organised a function in connection with International Children Day at Special Education and Training Centre here on Thursday.
On the occasion, Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister Zakia Shahnawaz was the chief guest. While addressing the function, Zakia Shahnawaz said that the government would establish institutions in all districts of the province for education and training of special children so they could become useful citizens. She expressed her satisfaction over the performance of the institution that was not only providing training to the special children but also imparting sense of patriotism among them. She said special children were pride of the country same like the normal children. She further said that it was responsibility of all segments of the society to pay special heed and attention for rehabilitation of the special children. Zakia said that currently some five institutions in five districts of the province were providing training to the special children and the government had the plan to establish such institutions in all districts.
