LAKKI MARWAT - Regional Police Officer Bannu Sajid Ali Khan on Friday suspended 23 policemen of Lakki Marwat district from service on the charges of corruption and poor performance.
An official source said that on the orders of provincial police officer Nasir Durrani the police officials and cops posted in different police stations and police posts in the district were kept under surveillance for several months.
He said that the performance of policemen was monitored strictly on the basis of which the regional police chief took a drastic action against them.
“During the process of performance monitoring several police officials and cops were found involved in unprofessional and unbecoming acts,” he maintained.
He said that the high police authorities also received complaints about their alleged involvement in corruption.
He said that the performance of suspended cops was not up to the mark besides they earned ill repute in the areas of their respective police stations and police posts. He told that the suspended policemen included two inspectors, 8 assistant sub inspectors, 3 head constables and 10 constables. “Four station house officers (SHOs) and an assistant sub inspector/in charge of city police station are among the suspended officials,” the source added.
